Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics

Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics (JETP) is one of the oldest and most highly recognized Soviet and Russian scientific journals in physics. JETP publishes articles that significantly contribute to the scientific branch of physics and are of great concern to a wide physics audience. Being launched by the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1931, JETP replaced the physical section of the Journal of the Russian Physical-Chemical Society. These days the Journal's founders are both the Russian Academy of Sciences and P.L. Kapitza Institute for Physical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The Journal's Editorial Board was headed by academicians A.F. Ioffe and L.I. Mandelstam (1931-1939), S.I. Vavilov (1939-1951), N.N. Andreev (1951-1955), P.L. Kapitsa (1955-1984), and A.S. Borovik-Romanov (1984-1997).
